In view of the Geneva Motor Show, where it will be unveiled, Pininfarina releases some more information about the Battista, the first high-performance electric car of the Italian brand controlled by the Indian Mahindra. Current chairman Paolo Pininfarina, explained that, with an estimated 1,900 horsepower and nearly 1,700 lb-ft of torque, the EV, which has been named after his grandfather, founder Battista ‘Pinin’ Farin, “has the potential to accelerate to 62 mph in less than two seconds, faster than a Formula 1 car, and break the 250 mph top speed barrier – all with a potential zero emissions range of over 300 miles.”
The Pininfarina Battista will be produced in 150 units and sold starting next year by a network of about 25 selected dealers around the world.
By the end of 2019, Pininfarina will end the selection of dealers for its dream EV in Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia. Some showrooms have already been selected in Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, Vancouver, Brussels, Dusseldorf, London, Stuttgart, Munich, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, Riyadh, while retailers have yet to be announced in China. “We are passionate about the Customer Journey we offer, the points of contact, and the full Pininfarina experience – our retail specialists fulfill our promise around the world and share our passion for Pininfarina’s origins and the potential of electrification in a luxury brand,” Michael Perschke, CEO of Automobili Pininfarina, comments. “We believe our retail specialists will become evangelists of the brand as they take on the privilege of caring for Pininfarina cars and clients.”
