The visit to Naples of Santo Versace, brother of the late Gianni and Donatella, and Chairman of the famous atelier Versace, on Friday, was indeed a fruitful one. He met the director of the National Archaeological Museum of Naples (Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli – MANN), Paolo Giulierini, to schedule an exhibition dedicated to the atelier with the Medusa logo.
Versace Foundation will be the curator of the exhibition project that is currently still in its early stages and that is scheduled for the coming summer right in the halls of MANN. Giulierini confirmed the news saying: “The scientific plan is not ready yet but the dates are certain. We are working with the Versace Foundation”.
From July to September 2017, you will be able to admire in the MANN the creations that shaped the history of the famous fashion brand. Undisputed protagonists of the exhibition will surely be the dresses, but the exhibition will also include furniture, ceramics and jewelry created by Versace. These will go on show side by side with some masterpieces from Pompeii and Herculaneum creating a conjunction of fashion and archaeology that will be both fascinating and provocative, characteristics that have always distinguished the fashion house. The exposition will join the famous Farnese collection and the Egyptian collection of the Archaeological Museum.
After the celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of Dolce & Gabbana, the Louboutin initiatives and the commercial shot in the city by Givenchy, Naples once more confirms to be a city that is fashionable in the fashion world.
