The aspiration to flight, to the possibility of liberating oneself in the open sky, free and majestic like the legendary birds of epic tales, has fired the souls of men since time immemorial. Over the course of the centuries, progress has made the realization of this innate desire possible, and by now flying is a consolidated and frequent habit for the majority of the world’s population. The primordial emotion continues to reside in the hearts of the passengers, or course, but today, ever more often, especially in the eyes of the most jaded, the infinite blue of the sky would do well to take on different gradations of hue in order to not get confused with the faded color of a habit which one no longer attracts much attention. So passion comes into play: in order to render the tone of the flight more luminous, Air Dolomiti, the Italian airline of the Lufthansa Group, has decided to combine the blue of the sky with the green of the golf course in the “Air Dolomiti Golf Partner” project, intended to promote Italy as a privileged destination for those who want to enjoy this exclusive sport in locations of an irresistible fascination. Sky and land thus come together in a symbolic embrace that offers the traveler the essence of being able to experiment something truly special: all golf lovers, in fact, thanks to Air Dolomiti, which has stipulated an agreement with the leading golf courses and luxury Italian resorts, can guarantee themselves the unique pleasure of a trip custom-tailored to their wants and needs.
The program will be active for the duration of 2017: the acquisition of a ticket in either the Plus or Emotion class allows the passengers to transport their golf equipment for free in place of a suitcase for a maximum of 23 kg, (50.7 lbs) with the tariff Plus, and 32 kg (70.5 lbs) with the tariff Emotion plus a carry-on suitcase up to 10 kg (22 lbs.). The advantages, however, are not limited to the flight, because on presentation of the boarding pass within a month of departure, one can obtain a 20% reduction on the public green fee tariff for each and every partner in the project. For all of the passengers departing from Munich, this yields an embarrassment of choices among the most beautiful Italian destinations: the link for the initiative, www.airdolomiti.it/golf-partner, allows one to have a look at all of the structures adhering to the initiative, including the various luxury resorts. In addition, special ad hoc packages have been created in collaboration with the tour operator Albrecht Golf Travel for the German clients wishing to offer themselves a reward under the aegis of sport, relaxation and fun.
The service is designed especially to favor those who choose Italy as a place to practice the noble sport: it is a more than laudable initiative and quite farsighted in that it contributes to building synergies between different sectors and thus contributing to increased profits in a truly systemic and virtuous economic perspective that highlights the value of not only sport and the experience of travel, but also art, culture, wine and cuisine, and the scenery of the most beautiful cities of the Peninsula. Through the advantages of the project, Air Dolomiti invites visitors to choose to come to Italy for a precise reason, golf, but at the same time suggests the possibility of understanding how wonderful it is to stay and discover all of the country’s intimate secrets. The collaboration between travel professionals and specialists in local tourism becomes a useful strategy for highlighting some of the most fascinating corners of Italy, in the context of a vision of travel that seems to echo the splendors of the Gesamtkunstwerk, the “total-art” opera of Wagnerian memory.
