Since 1972, the international fashion world meets every year in Florence for Pitti Immagine Uomo. This year the 4-day event, dedicated to summer 2018 trends in men’s clothing and accessories will take place from June 13th to June 15th at Fortezza da Basso.
The theme of the upcoming edition is “Boom, Pitti Blooms”. The colors, beauty and energy of flowers will flourish throughout the fashion show designed by lifestyler Sergio Colantuoni. The floral motifs will sway everywhere: on objects, walls, facades, special flower beds and ad hoc sculptures. An explosion of cheerfulness that will be the backdrop to the collections presented by more than 1200 exhibitors to numerous visitors: over 30,000 people are expected to attend the event.
Pitti Immagine Uomo, will be much more than a fashion show. The calendar, which can be found on the official website, is very rich and it includes many related events. Like the exposition titled “The Effimeral Museum of Fashion”, curated by Olivier Saillard, an interesting reflection on the deep sense of fashion and an investigation of its mechanisms that will remain at Palazzo Pitti until October 22nd.
Seven of the most promising young Australian designers – Chris Ran Lin, Commas, Double Rainbouu, EX Infinitas, Sener Besim, Strateas, Carlucci and Ten Pieces – will take part in the Guest Nation project. They have been entrusted with the task of individually design a spring-summer collection using merino wool; the typical Australian raw material is very versatile, but usually it is used in the cold season. The results of this exciting creative challenge will be presented at the Spazio Carra, along with a related photographic exhibition by photographer Bartolomeo Celestino.
