The new Tipo range designed in Italy by Centro Stile Fiat and developed in Turkey with one of the largest research and development FCA centers and gold medal of World Class Manufacturing, Tofaş R&D. In order to distribute Fiat Tipo in over fifty EMEA countries, the development process involved a dedicated team of 2,000+ people for more than three years, during which more than 8.7 million kilometers were covered in extreme weather, roads, and altitude driving conditions. As a confirmation of this hard work the Tipo range won the prestigious “Autobest” award as “Best buy car 2016” thanks to its design, quality, comfort and versatility.
Fiat Tipo 4-door, Fiat Tipo 5-door and Fiat Type Station Wagon, with passengers and luggage space at the top of their class and excellent value, are Fiat’s answer to a world that has new needs and in which purchasing choices are made more and more in an aware and concrete way.
The three versions all share the same value equation, but each has its own distinct personality, like the customers they target, whether they are families, couples or youngsters. Indeed, functionality is a feature that has been part of Fiat’s DNA for over 80 years and has been crucial in writing the history of many successful models. In this case, the careful design of the internal volumes ensures that habitability for passengers and capacity of the luggage compartment, as well as great use flexibility, are at the top of the category. Moreover, all the new Fiat Tipo are equipped with a wealth of standard features and several ingenious solutions that improve the lives of drivers and passengers, such us the innovative UconnectTM system 7″ HD LIVE, a touch-screen that allows to “pinch and swipe” like on tablet screens. All versions are also fitted with complete active and passive security systems.
From the early stages of development particular attention has been paid to the Total Cost of Ownership, and the result have been values that lie at the top of the category thanks to particularly low fuel consumption, and low maintenance, repair and operation costs.
The three body variants are all available in three equipment versions – Pop, Easy, Lounge. The Euro 6 engine range offers solutions aimed to meet the needs of the heart of the market: from 95 to 120 hp, diesel or gasoline. Depending on the engines, three kinds of transmissions are available – automatic, manual, and dual-clutch – all with a technology that translates into exemplary fuel consumption and environmental data.
