Ducati showcased the elegant concept bike at the ‘Concorso d’eleganza Villa d’Este’ in Cernobbio by Como Lake. The motorcycle, awarded during the kermesse, is the result of the collaboration between Audi Konzept Design Studio Munich, directed by Alessandro Dambrosio, and the Ducati Design department, led by Andrea Ferraresi. Audi Konzept Design Studio München has been presenting concepts for Audi Group for over thirty years; however, it does not work only with the Audi brand, but also with Lamborghini and since few years ago with Ducati.
Of the Scrambler that we all know, the Ducati Bobber retains only chassis and engine. Everything else is totally new: tank, raiser, saddle, tail, license plate, instrumentation, led lights, fender, Ohlins fork (the same as the Monster 1200S’ one), and Brembo braking system of racing origin. The bobber’s wheels have radial rays, the exhaust runs low, and many details are made of aluminum and machined from solid. The Ducati shapes are respected, but they are interpreted in a café racer version.
The Audi interpretation is very much present, both in terms of quality and cleanliness of shapes (Bauhaus), but also in the materials: the bike is in fact completely made of aluminum (a beloved material for the German brand). The hand-sewn saddle is handcrafted, like all the various components, both finished and machined from solid ones. The LED headlights capitalize on Audi’s experience with Matrix Laser technology, which allows for very small headlights with innovative design.
