Creativity, imagination and quality: these ingredients are enough to determine the success of a project. Three qualities that emerged from the collaboration between All about Italy, the magazine dedicated to Italian excellencies, and Rovagnati, that for over 70 years has been producing high quality cured meats with a unique and unmistakable taste.

Driven by the common intent of promoting the taste and peculiarities of the Italian gastronomic history, the two companies met in New York for an event involving a network of selected Italian restaurants. These are entrusted with the realization of innovative recipes inspired by a key ingredient: ham, or rather  Gran Biscotto, the most famous cooked ham in Italy.

The format is that of a real competition, which this year, from 23rd to 29th October, involved 15 of the best restaurants in New York. The carefully chosen restaurants presented, among their culinary proposals, exclusive recipes in which Gran Biscotto is the main ingredient. These were accompanied by tastings of the cured meats offered by Rovagnati: a way to show how the tradition embodied by the Italian brand can coexist with innovation and, indeed, inspire it.

The chefs’ creativity and the dishes’ taste were be examined by a select jury of food experts: journalists, bloggers and prominent figures in the industry were invited to be the first to taste the dishes prepared for the occasion. For the restaurant classified in first the prize is an exclusive Berkel slicer and the two runners-up received a professional Berkel kitchen knife set.
